Our team of coaches and mentors each bring something unique to Calm Connections. All have experience working with children, adults or families, and all offer a trauma-aware, holistic approach. Not only that, they all have lived experience in the areas we support.
Directors
With over 36 years in Education, as an MLD, Primary and early-years specialist teacher, consultant and inspector, Emma has worked closely with parents, carers and professionals to support children’s development and wellbeing/behaviour challenges. Emma is an advocate for supporting voice of children, young people, parents, carers and professionals, to ensure children and families have the best outcomes from services.
After over 20 years working in technology, Sarah changed career in 2017 to move into more people focused work. Qualifying as a coach, mentor and meditation teacher, she blends her experience of working with people, and her love of neuroscience into a service that is unique to Calm Connections! She is passionate about ensuring that people feel safe and heard when facing challenges.
Joanna worked very closely with Emma and her fellow Board Members as their trusted Treasurer for over 6 years. Whilst there, she was involved in several other projects, and this was one of the many sparks that ignited her passion to further her support for families. Joanna is a qualified coach supporting children and young people with building strength and confidence, collaboratively with their families, in an empathic, kind and compassionate manner. Offering bespoke 1-1 coaching, she promotes positive wellbeing and health.
Freelance Team
Clair has over six years experience working with families across Trafford and the wider community. With experience in SEND advocacy, safeguarding, project management, community engagement, and more, Clair brings a wealth of experience to Calm Connections. She believes that genuine connection, trust and understanding are at the heart of meaningful support.
Kath blends her training as a mental health nurse, with deeply personal experience. Supporting her own child through self-harm, gave her a profound understanding from both the parent and individual perspective. Kath takes a fully holistic approach, recognising the importance of harmony between mind, body, and spirit, and how physical health is deeply connected to emotional and mental wellbeing.
With over 15 years' experience in senior Learning and Development, Rachel established her own coaching organisation in 2018. Rachel's coaching approach is relational, strengths-based and client-led. She creates safe, compassionate and non-judgemental spaces where people feel able to pause, think differently and explore what matters most to them. She is passionate about making coaching accessible to those who may benefit most.
