Parent Support

Supporting our child with additional wellbeing needs can be tough. It can leave us feeling frustrated, alone, and a host of other big emotions. Research shows that if parents and carers can maintain their wellbeing, children feel more supported which helps with their recovery.

Calm Connections offer a number of ways to support parents and carers.

Our CALM mentor and befriending scheme is for parents and carers of young people with mental health challenges in Trafford. It provides practical and emotional support and has been developed by parents with lived experience. Our volunteer mentors can support with a wide range of challenges and are ready to be a listening ear.

If you would like to find out more, either for support or to become a mentor, please contact rachel@calmconnections.org

We also have a closed facebook group that is moderated by our trained parent/carer volunteers. This is a safe space to share concerns, difficulties without judgement.  https://www.facebook.com/groups/386328425335115/?source_id=145017582878226

We will be organising parent drop in sessions across Trafford where we can be a listening ear, offer support and sign-post families to relevant organisations.

The next session will be at Uplift Cafe, Stretford Arndale (near Pure Gym), Thursday 14th November, 11-2pm.

If you have any questions or feel that we may be able to support your family, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
